Over 4,000 people took part in the SeaGull Century event this year, which is 1,000 more than the event’s cap from the previous year due to worries over COVID19.
According to SU spokesman Jason Rhodes, “It’s a great tradition at SU and we love having the bikers on campus. This isn’t just a bike ride for the sake of a bike ride; it’s also a fundraiser for scholarship programmes here; it typically raises $10,000, $20,000, or $30,000.
According to Salisbury University, that figure is still much down than their peak attendance of more than 83 hundred riders in 2019.
The bikers may choose between a 100-mile or a 63-mile stretch of the eastern shore’s coast, all while helping to fund SU scholarships.
