The behaviorist or behaviorist approach emphasizes the role of environmental stimuli in determining the way we behave. Learning to change behaviour based on experience (not including changes due to fatigue, injury or exposure to medication) – is at the heart of this approach.

The psychodynamic approach (Freud) criticizes behaviorism because it does not consider the influence of the unconscious on behavior, but instead focuses on externally observable behavior. The word accent comes from the Latin “stringi”, which means “to attract”. According to Richard Lazarus, “Stress is a feeling experienced by a person when he/she feels needs exceed the personal and social resources that he/she can mobilize”.
