Pokémon Back and White is responsible for some absolutely phenomenal Pokémon. Still, regarding their legendaries and mythical ‘mons, I have a strong love for the reanimated fossil with a gun known as Genesect. They brought a fossil back to life and strapped a glock to its back, and you’re telling me that isn’t one of the best Pokémon ever made? Not to mention, it can shift forms like Bugtimus Prime and turn into a hover car. Pokémon Go peaked here, pack it up. Everyone go home.

What is Pokémon Go Genesect?
Number 649 in the Pokedex, Genesect is initially from the region of Unova in Pokémon Black and White, and their sequels Pokémon Black 2 and White 2. A bug steel-type, Genesect is the reincarnation of an ancient fossil that the Evil Team Plasma then manipulates, and in its original appearance could change its form and the type of its signature move techno drive by holding different elemental drives.
How to catch Pokémon Go Genesect?
As a mythical Pokémon, Genesect is only available in five-star Pokémon Go raids. Currently, Genesect isn’t part of the current rotation of Pokémon Go raids, but we’ll update this guide when it becomes available again.
What are Pokémon Go Genesect’s moves?
- Hyper Beam

How do I use Pokémon Go Genesect?
As a bug steel-type, Genesect has a bunch of resistances, including dragon, ice, fairy, psychic, big, steel, poison, and grass. It is, however, 4x weak to fire Pokémon, so don’t let it anywhere near a Charizard unless you fancy some barbeque locust bites. Its typing makes it particularly effective against ice and fairy types. Below is a list of Pokémon Genesect is especially great against.
- Galarian Articuno
- Galarian Rapidash
- Galarian Darmanitan (standard form)
- Tapu Lele
- Mega Altaria
How do I counter Pokémon Go Genesect?
Genesect is a bit of a glass cannon, especially with its brutal weakness to fire. Most charged fire attacks do some serious damage, but a few Pokémon, in particular, are a nightmare for Genesect to face. Train these up and take them to the next Genesect raid to call this mythical bug Pokémon your own.
