Scorn is a first-person horror adventure game from Ebb Software and Kepler Interactive. The title is out now on PC and Xbox platforms, as well as the Game Pass subscription. Scorn has been met with divisive reviews, and it’s certainly something that you’ll either love or hate. Regardless, it’s a technically impressive title with some incredible graphical fidelity and art direction. Despite that, there are a few limitations to some of the settings available in-game. If you want to fix the Scorn ultrawide FOV issue, here is how you can do that.
Fixing the Scorn Ultrawide FOV issue
While the game supports ultrawide monitors, there are some issues with FOV issues, namely how it reduces the FOV during gameplay, cutscenes, and menus. Thankfully, Rose from the widescreen community has already released a fix for the problem. To install their patch for the Steam, or Microsoft Store (Game Pass) version, follow the steps below.
- Head over to the following Github link
- Scroll down a bit, and download the latest zip of the patch under Assets by clicking. As of writing, it is version 1.0
- This will download the zip file, which you need to extract using Winrar or 7zip
- Extract the file into the following location inside the game’s directory
Steam: \Scorn\Binaries\Win64\ Microsoft Store (Game Pass): \Scorn\Binaries\WinGDK\
That’s all you need to do, and the next time you launch Scorn, the FOV will be adjusted appropriately. Check out the screenshot below showcasing the title running in a proper ultrawide resolution with the patch enabled.
All credits for the fix go to Rose, and you can consider supporting them at Patreon or BuyMeACoffee. They’ve tested this patch at 2560×1080, 3840×1080 and 5760×1080. Given the results of their previous patches, we expect this to run just as well on any other ultrawide setup as well.
