According to a press release from the State Department, US first lady Jill Biden has tested positive for COVID-19 and is presently showing only minor symptoms. The first lady is currently residing at a private home in South Carolina, according to a statement from the first lady’s communications director Elizabeth Alexander. She will return home once she receives two consecutively negative COVID tests, she said. The First Lady started to experience cold-like symptoms late in the day on Monday after testing negative for COVID-19 during her routine testing schedule. A PCR test revealed a positive result even though she tested negative once more on a fast antigen test. The First Lady has received two vaccinations, two booster shots, and is only showing minor effects. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, a course of Paxlovid has been ordered for her.
