Konami To reveal New Entry from ‘World Loved Series’ in Tokyo Games Show

In a recent official press release, Konami announced its lineup for the Tokyo Games Show. While the lineup does have some familiar games like Yu-Gi-oh and eFootball, there is a specific thing that catches the eye. The lineup has listed an unannounced Konami title. In the description of the title, it is stated that it would be a new entry in a ‘world beloved series’. With that in mind, there could be a lot of possibilities for what that could mean. The game is set to be shown on September 16 in a stage event.

What is the New Konami Title?

The only legitimate piece of information we have is that the unannounced game is definitely a Konami-owned franchise and is world-renowned. Franchises like Silent Hill, Castlevania, and Metal Gear all fit into that category. These franchises have received universal acclaim from both fans and critics. But, of them, Silent Hill definitely has a high possibility.

Earlier this year, screenshots of what was apparently a new Silent Hill game were leaked on the internet. These images were quickly taken down on Twitter and this would give them at least legitimacy regarding this. After the critically acclaimed P.T. demo fans were wanting a proper Silent Hill game from Konami. But after Hideo Kojima‘s departure from the company, there was no news of a Silent Hill until the screenshot leaks. Perhaps this is the game Konami is going to reveal.

Then again, Metal Gear could also be another series that Konami would be willing to revive. After the release of the negatively received Metal Gear Survive, Konami might be looking for a fresh start with this series as well. So, we might be getting Solid Snake back or it could be a completely new character and story. For now, we will have to wait and see what they are going to announce.
