12 Scary Movies Like Wrong Turn

Movies Like Wrong Turn

Your life or death depends on one wrong turn, with the latter being more likely. The three insane cannibals from the Wrong Turn series are among the most brutal and well-known villains in the Hollywood horror genre.

These three brothers kill any unlucky tourist that gets in their way by slicing and dicing live people to satisfy their cannibal appetites.

Here is a selection of movies like Wrong Turn that you will love. Some movies like Wrong Turn are available to stream on Netflix, Hulu, or Amazon Prime.

1. Blood Feast (1963)

  • Director: Herschell Gordon Lewis
  • Star cast: William Kerwin, Mal Arnold, Connie Mason, Christy Foushee, Scott H. Hall, Lyn Bolton, and Ashlyn Martin
  • IMDb rating: 5.0/10

Herschell Gordon Lewis, sometimes known as the Godfather of Gore, created the first splatter movie in 1963, years before movies like Wrong Turn were released.

Blood Feast is currently regarded as one of the most significant movies in cinema history due to its revolutionary portrayal of gore.

Due to the movie’s cult following, a segment of the public was willing to see it at such violent levels, which marked the beginning of horror in the 1970s and 1980s.

Producer David Friedman said that while it’s not as repulsive as the other entries and possibly unwatchable due to its absurd plot and acting, they never created it to be taken seriously.

However, the blood and torn pieces of flesh would be enough to force a normal person to live off oats for two days.

2. Friday the 13th (2009)

  • Director: Marcus Nispel
  • Star cast: Jared Padalecki, Amanda Righetti, Derek Mears, Danielle Panabaker, Travis Van Winkle, Aaron Yoo, and Jonathan Sadowski
  • IMDb rating: 5.5/10

Many young offenders have fun in their lake cottages near Camp Crystal Lake. Unknown to them, Jason Voorhees, a deadly monster, wanders the property searching for his most recent victims.

They must join hands with Clay, a guy searching for his missing sister, and do their best to avoid the hockey mask murderer as the campers start to vanish.

3. The Human Centipede (2009)

  • Director: Tom Six
  • Star cast: Dieter Laser, Ashley C. Williams, Ashlynn Yennie, Akihiro Kitamura, Andreas Leupold, Peter Blankenstein, and Bernd Kostrau
  • IMDb rating: 4.4/10

This must be the only trilogy that isn’t deserving of the name. As horrifying and dismal as it may seem, the first movie inspired the next two movies.

Dr. Heiter, a surgeon, famed for separating conjoint twins, once had a fantasy of stitching three people together and connecting their mouths to form a human centipede. To achieve his goal, he kidnaps two women and a male tourist.

He also wants to keep the “triplet” as a pet. Dr. Heiter’s inhumane intentions and his vile and bilious thinking are disgusting. This is one of the amazing movies like Wrong Turn.

4. 30 Days of Night (2007)

  • Director: David Slade
  • Star cast: Josh Hartnett, Melissa George, Danny Huston, Ben Foster, Mark Boone Junior, Mark Rendall, and Amber Sainsbury
  • IMDb rating: 6.6/10

Every year, a month-long night lasts in Barrow, Alaska, when the sun sinks beyond the horizon. The inhabitants of this secluded village are, however, in for a surprise this year.

Before the shadows consume the whole community, the sheriff and his wife must stop the vampires from consuming the remaining citizens.

5. Cannibal Holocaust (1980)

  • Director: Ruggero Deodato
  • Star cast: Robert Kerman, Francesca Ciardi, Perry Pirkanen, Luca Barbareschi, Salvatore Basile, Ricardo Fuentes, and Carl Gabriel Yorke
  • IMDb rating: 5.8/10

The fact that this movie is banned in certain places 37 years after its first release and is only accessible in a severely edited form speaks much about this “video nasty.” If Blood Feast invented torture porn, Cannibal Holocaust brought the subgenre into the teen years.

Many devoted fans found the transformation from crude splatter to something so realistic and revolting intolerable.

In addition to being a breakthrough in torture porn, the movie also revolutionized the discovered footage genre as it follows a documentary team that had gone missing while filming cannibal tribes in the Amazon jungle. This is among the best movies like Wrong Turn.

6. Hostel (2005)

  • Director: Eli Roth
  • Star cast: Jay Hernandez, Derek Richardson, Eythor Gudjonsson, Barbara Nedeljakova, Jan Vlasák, Jana Kaderabkova, and Jennifer Lim
  • IMDb rating: 5.9/10

‘Hostel’ is not for the weak of heart; almost every shot features dismembered body parts. This movie will shock you with its horrifyingly filmed gore and insane game of torture.

This is a slasher genre masterwork and it is one of the amazing movies like Wrong Turn in that it deals with a topic that is better left to illicit imaginations.

It is set in the Czech Republic and follows the story of tourists who go to Eastern Europe in quest of fun, frolic, and sex and are abducted by a group that deals in human trafficking.

They sell the naive visitors to the top bidders, who have fantasies of mutilating and setting people on fire for amusement.

7. Saw (2004)

They have to solve his unsettling riddles if they want to live. The torture of one of the victims is much more painful because his family, including his wife and daughter, must watch it on a closed-circuit camera. This is one of the amazing movies like Wrong Turn.

8. Ready or Not (2019)

Dae-Su, who has been suffering from the death of his family members and has accepted loneliness, has five days to discover the cause.

If he doesn’t, he risks losing a lot more than he believes. In terms of its genre, “Oldboy” is a cult movie. This is undoubtedly one of the best movies like wrong turn to watch.

10. House of Wax (2005)

  • Director: Jaume Collet-Serra
  • Star cast: Chad Michael Murray, Paris Hilton, Elisha Cuthbert, Brian Van Holt, Jared Padalecki, Jon Abrahams, and Robert Ri’chard

Elisha Cuthbert may have caught your eye in “The Girl Next Door.” It’s time to see her co-star with Paris Hilton in a horror movie while wearing even more skimpy clothes. It already sounds intriguing.

Upon accepting a ride from a stranger, a group of six friends on their way to a football game finds themselves in Ambrose. In addition to being deserted and home to just two people, the city seems to be well-known for its enormous wax statue display, known as the House of Wax.

However, Tyler and Serena are unaware that Babyface is 100 percent genuine and that the movie is not a work of fiction. Additionally, Alexa is guiding them to their demise rather than their intended artistic objective.

Everyone is killed by the masked assailant, leaving only Serena to be used in “breeding” to produce more Babyfaces. This is one of the movies like Wrong Turn that has a story with horrifying sights and terrifying dread.
