A new Local Food Pricing Dashboard is available from the Vermont Agency of Agriculture, Food, & Markets. The Agency has gathered years’ worth of price information on produce, meat, and eggs at farmers markets all around the state in collaboration with the USDA Agricultural Marketing Service. An interactive visual is provided by this dashboard to show how prices have changed from 2019 to the present.
The dashboard should help farmers, retailers, businesses, and the general public compare prices, set fair prices, evaluate the business value for insurance rates and loans, and enable customers to make educated decisions.
During the market reporting season (June to October), the data is updated every week to account for recent price changes. Depending on their popularity and frequency at Vermont markets, some market items have more data than others.
