When is Genshin Impact Yelan’s banner?
Genshin Impact Yelan’s banner is called Discerner of Enigmas, and started May 31, 2022. It runs concurrently with Genshin Impact Xiao‘s rerun banner. As Hoyoverse has stated that 2.7 will run for six weeks, we estimate that her banner will end around June 21.
You can find out more about the current and next Genshin Impact banners right here on Pocket Tactics.
Genshin Impact’s Yelan is a mysterious woman who claims to work for the Ministry of Civil Affairs, but is classed as a ‘non-entity’ on their list. She runs a teahouse in Liyue, and is loved by all of her patrons due to her top-notch social skills. However, she’s known to have many different faces, and relies on acting to blend seamlessly into different social settings.
Her hobbies are to live life at random, and rolling the dice to decide what to do next. When it comes to food and drinks, she loves to grind dried Jeuyun Chilis and Violetgrass Stemans into a powder, then mix them with Yulani White Tea leaves, brewing it into a strong, fragrant tea, claiming she prefers drinks like this with a long-lasting aftertaste as opposed to coffee and spirits.
Yelan wears a bracelet on her right hand which contains a type of magic used by her clan. It can send simple messages which are buried in the ‘blue light’, which only she can decipher.
She is an avid traveller, and has been across all the seven nations of Teyvat – and she’s even spent some time in the Abyss. You can find out more about this gorgeous, mysterious lady in the upcoming Story Quest, Umbrabilis Orchis Chapter: Act I, where some exciting secrets will be unveiled.
Take a look at her introductory tweet from the official Genshin Impact Twitter below.
“I got a new letter from an informant. Looks like the situation has changed again.”

What’s the best Genshin Impact Yelan build?
Genshin Impact’s Yelan excels in a sub-DPS role, though she can also be used as a main DPS. She’s a hydro bow user whose talents help fill in the downtime between main DPS attacks, and her elemental burst directly increases an active character’s personal damage.
However, she has a high elemental burst cost which is only fixable with her C1 constellation, and the hydro application of her elemental burst can be somewhat inconsistent without her C2 constellation.
She was heralded as extremely strong during the beta testing phase, but we’ll have to see how she performs now that she’s fully released. We’ll be sure to update this guide when we’ve gotten more familiar with the best Yelan build.
Regardless of whether you want to use her as a DPS or sub-DPS, her best weapon is Aqua Simulacra. It’s a new, five-star bow that was designed with her in mind, and both its crit damage base stat and skill are great assets to her.
Polar Star is another great, five-star choice for her in both roles, due to its crit rate stat and the attack boost of its skill.
If you’re looking for a more affordable options, they differ depending on what role you want to build her for. Mouun’s Moon is the best four-star bow for main DPS Yelan, whereas Favonius Warbow is the best four-star bow for sub-DPS Yelan.
|Weapon||Effect||How to obtain|
|Aqua Simulacra||Bonus effect: +crit damage%
Skill: increases HP by 16%. When there are opponents nearby, Yelan’s damage is increase by 20%. This takes effect whether the character is on-field or not
|Polar Star||Bonus effect: +crit rate%
Skill: increases elemental skill and elemental burst damage by 12%. After a normal attack, charged attack, elemental skill, or elemental burst hits an enemy, gain one stack of Ashen Nightstar for 12 seconds. When 1/2/3/4 stacks of Ashen Nightstar are present, Yelan’s attack increases by 10/20/30/48%
|Mouun’s Moon||Bonus effect: +attack%
Skill: for every point of the entire party’s combined maximum energy capacity, Yelan’s elemental burst damage is increased by 0.12%. A maximum of 40% increased elemental burst damage can be gained this way
|Favonius Warbow||Bonus effect: +energy recharge%
Skill: crit hits have a 40% chance to generate a small amount of elemental particles, which regenerate six energy for Yelan. Can only occur once every 12 seconds
Regardless of which role you want to put her in, the best Genshin Impact Yelan artifact set is easily Emblem of Severed Fate, due to its energy recharge and elemental burst damage boosts. However, you can mix two pieces of Noblesse Oblige with two pieces of Emblem of Severed fate for a flat increase to both stats instead.
If you’ve not gotten your hands on the above sets yet, you can use The Exile in the meantime.
|Artifacts||Effect||How to obtain|
|Emblem of Severed Fate||Two equipped: increases energy recharge by 20%
Four equipped: increases elemental burst damage by 25% of energy recharge. A maximum of 75% bonus damage can be obtained this way
|Momiji-Dyed Court domain|
|Emblem of Severed Fate and Noblesse Oblige||Two EoSF: increases energy recharge by 20%
Two NO: increases elemental burst damage by 20%
|EOSF from Momiji-Dyed Court domain, NO from Clear Pool and Mountain Cavern Domain or the Noblesse Oblige artifact strongboxes|
|The Exile||Two equipped: increases energy recharge by 20%
Four equipped: using Yelan’s elemental burst regenerates two energy for all party members (excluding Yelan) every two seconds for six seconds
|Enemy and boss drops|
Artifact stat and sub-stat recommendations
- Sands: HP% or energy recharge
- Goblet: hydro damage bonus
- Circlet: crit rate or crit damage
- Energy recharge
- Crit rate/crit damage
Try to maintain a 2:1 ratio between crit damage and crit rate, with your crit damage being double your crit rate. We also recommend getting Yelan’s energy recharge to about 140% for DPS, and 180% for sub-DPS. Of course, more energy recharge is always nice, but anything over 200-220% is not really necessary.
Yelan’s Active abilities
Yelan normal attack
|Stealthy Bowshot||Release four consecutive shots with a bow, dashing backwards during the last two hits|
|Stealthy Bowshot (charged)||While you aim, flowing water accumulates around the arrowhead, inflicting hydro damage on hit|
|Stealthy Bowshot (plunging)||Fire off a shower of arrows mid-air, before falling to the ground and inflicting AoE damage|
Yelan Elemental Skill
|Lingering Lifeline||Fire a lifeline that pulls you along rapidly, dragging in and marking any enemies in its path. When your rapid movement ends, the lifeline explodes, dealing hydro damage to the marked opponents based on Yelan’s max HP|
Yelan Elemental Burst
|Depth-Clarion Dice||Deal AoE hydro damage while also creating an ‘Exquisite Throw’ which aids you in battle, with an 18 second cooldown. Exquisite Throw follows your character around, initiating a coordinated attack that deals hydro damage based on Yelan’s max HP. This can occur once every second when your active character uses a normal attack, and occurs each time Yelan’s Lifeline explodes and hits enemies|
Yelan’s Passive abilities
|Lengthy Consideration||Gain 25% more rewards if Yelan is dispatched on a Liyue Expedition for 20 hours|
|Turn Control||When your party has one/two/three/four elemental types, Yelan’s max HP is increased by 6%/12%/18%/30%|
|Adapt with Ease||When an Exquisite Throw is in play, your active character deals 1% more damage. This increases by a further 3.5% damage every second. Damage can be increased by a maximum of 50%|
Here are all of Yelan’s constellations. Of course, to get a constellation, you’ll have to roll the dice and pull more than one copy of this lovely lady, so good luck!
|C1 – Taking All Comers||For each opponent marked by your Lifeline, Yelan restores seven energy. You can restore a maximum of 21 energy for Yelan per Lingering Lifeline|
|C2 – Enter the Plotters||Lingering Lifeline gains one additional charge|
|C3 – Dealer’s Sleight||Increases the level of Lingering Lifeline by three. Max upgrade level is 15|
|C4 – Bait and Switch||Increases the damage of Exquisite Throw’s coordinated attack by 30%|
|C5 – Beware the Trickster’s Dice||Increases the level of Depth-Clarion Dice by three. Max upgrade level is 15|
|C6 – Winner Takes All||After you use Yelan’s elemental burst, she enters the mastermind state. In this state all of her normal attacks become Breakthrough Barbs and deal 130% extra damage|

What’s the best Genshin Impact Yelan team comp?
If you’re using Yelan as a main DPS, we recommend going for an electro-charged team.
Combine her with Genshin Impact’s Raiden, Genshin Impact’s Xingqiu, and Genshin Impact’s Kazuha for a team comp focused on enabling Yelan to use her elemental burst off cool down. She doesn’t need a lot of energy recharge for this build, but you should ensure that Xingqiu is equipped with the Sacrificial Sword.
Another electro-charged team comp for main DPS Yelan consists of Genshin Impact’s Fischl, Genshin Impact’s Kokomi, and Genshin Impact’s Sucrose. This focuses on electro-charge reactions, with the welcome addition of Kokomi’s strong healing. Be sure to equip Sucrose with Viridescent Venerer to make the most of this comp.
Sub-DPS Yelan works well in vaporize teams, especially alongside Genshin Impact’s Hu Tao. Pair them up with Genshin Impact’s Bennett for heals and buffs, and Genshin Impact’s Sucrose for crowd control and resistance shred.
Alternatively, you can put Yelan in a national team alongside Genshin Impact’s Raiden, Genshin Impact’s Xiangling, and Genshin Impact’s Bennett. In this team, Yelan provides grate damage while Raiden’s burst is on cooldown.
Hoyoverse announced through the official Genshin Impact Twitter that the Yelan’s English voice actor is Laura Post, and the Japanese voice actor is ENDŌ Aya.
